119研究室は感染症内科の設立にともなってスタートした研究室です。臨床と基礎の両面から研究に取り組んでいます
これまでに16名の先生が在籍し、感染症の診療、教育、研究について、学内のみでなく他の大学や病院などの各方面で活躍しています。
研究内容
これまでに、自然免疫機構として代表的な受容体であるToll-like Receptorの細胞内情報伝達や細胞内動態の解析、C. difficileの構成タンパクと自然免疫の制御の関連性、肺炎クラミジアによる動脈硬化発症の分子機序、Tリンパ球の自然免疫と獲得免疫の関連性、キノロン薬の免疫調節機構、HIVのRNAによる免疫応答性の解析、HIV薬がもたらす副作用の分子機構の解析などを行ってきました。
現在は、大腸菌や芽胞菌などによる細菌感染症に主に焦点を当て、新たな治療やワクチンなどによる予防法の開発を目指して日々研究を行っています。
大腸菌では、これまで十分に検討されていない発症および重症化因子の解析をしています。芽胞菌は、B. cereusおよびC. difficileの分子および臨床疫学や病原因子の調査・解析を行っています。さらに、クロストリジウム菌血症の臨床および基礎研究を行っています
